It’s hard to follow up the great Joker performances of the past. Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto — they have all put their unique spin on the Joker character and each one of these performances has been pretty unique.
Enter Cameron Monaghan.
While he doesn’t officially play the Joker in the show GOTHAM, he does play two “proto-Jokers”. And as young as he is, his performance as the deranged JEROME VALESKA is comparable to the aforementioned Joker actors.
The look for this tutorial is from the showdown between Jerome and Bruce Wayne at the Boardwalk Circus.

CHARACTER BIO:
Jerome Valeska was a deranged, criminally insane psychopath and murderer. He was the son of snake-dancer Lila Valeska and blind fortune teller Paul Cicero and twin brother of Jeremiah Valeska. Born and raised in Haly’s Circus, Jerome murdered his mother at the age of eighteen, which led to his arrest and incarceration at Arkham Asylum. Following a breakout with other inmates orchestrated by Theo Galavan, he became the leader of The Maniax and wreaked chaos upon the city. This later led to his betrayal and murder at Galavan’s hands, although his death brought about an underground movement devoted to him and his way of thinking. Jerome was later resurrected from the dead by a follower, allowing him to once again reign terror upon Gotham City.
