How to Draw BLACK LIGHTNING (CW TV Series) Drawing Tutorial

posted in: Tutorials 2

It’s time we tackle some DC superheroes that have appeared on our television sets this year!

BLACK LIGHTNING was one of those shows that premiered right in the middle of my move from North America to Thailand. It was a very busy time, so I never was able to make a tutorial of the character until now.

To be perfectly transparent, I was never familiar with the character in the comics and only saw the first episode of the TV series, so please forgive me for knowing just a little about the character. I do know about his history as the first black DC superhero to have a comic title. That’s a pretty cool distinction.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial! Please note that even though he’s technically not part of the Arrowverse, I am adding this to my Arrowverse playlist just to keep the CW DC superheroes in one place. Check that playlist out here.

Happy drawing,
Ramny

TV SHOW SYNOPSIS:

Jefferson Pierce, who retired from his superhero persona Black Lightning nine years ago after seeing the effects it had on his family, is forced to become a hero again when the rise of the local gang The One Hundred leads to increased crime and corruption in his community.

I’m a schoolteacher who has always loved to draw. One day, one of my students said, “Can you teach me how to draw Baymax from Big Hero Six?” Thus, the channel was born! I’m a big nerd who loves comic books, action figures, and movies. I live in the USA, but I’m actually Filipino-Canadian.
