With the recent release of the most recent MCU entry, Doctor Strange, we are introduced to several key characters who have long been a part of Marvel Universe lore. One of those is KARL MORDO, long-time adversary of the Sorcerer Supreme.
Portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mordo’s character development in the film is different from the comics, but a much more effective one. No longer is he the one who grew jealous of the Ancient One’s decision to pick Dr. Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme. Now he is driven by what he views as a corruption of natural order, a conclusion he came to after what he views as “deception” by the Ancient One herself.
As I mentioned in the video, I liked that the movie acted as an origin story for both Strange and Mordo. For once I’d like to see the MCU’s villains be on par with its heroes. The Netflix series does an awesome job of doing just that and I hope soon that the movies will catch up.
Anyway, enjoy the tutorial!
Happy drawing,

P.S.: Remember that my goal is never to create a likeness to actors or actresses, but rather a likeness to the characters they portray on screen.
CHARACTER BIO:
Karl Mordo is a former member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts and a close ally to the Ancient One, assisting her with recruiting and training their new soldiers. When Mordo encountered Stephen Strange, he invited him into Kamar-Taj despite the Ancient One’s objections and later aided him in battle against Kaecilius and the Zealots.
