In the Spider-Man 2 movie, Doctor Octopus, also known as “Doc Ock,” is portrayed as a brilliant scientist named Dr. Otto Octavius. He is introduced as a friend and mentor to Peter Parker, the alter ego of Spider-Man, who is studying under him at Empire State University.
After a fusion experiment goes wrong and kills his wife, Doc Ock becomes mentally unstable, and his mechanical tentacles, which were designed to manipulate and control fusion reactions, become fused to his body. The tentacles take over his mind and he becomes a dangerous supervillain, seeking to complete his fusion experiment at any cost.
Throughout the movie, Doc Ock engages in battles with Spider-Man, who is trying to stop him from carrying out his plan to create a new sun and destroy New York City. Despite his villainous nature, Doc Ock is portrayed as a tragic figure, struggling with his own inner demons and haunted by the loss of his wife. In the end, he sacrifices himself to save Spider-Man and the city from his own creation.
