How to Draw BLUE the VELOCIRAPTOR (Jurassic World) Drawing Tutorial

Who doesn’t love drawing dinosaurs? I’m excited to draw a few!

The film JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM is set to be released in North America this week, and I’m using this as an excuse to draw a couple of these amazing creatures. My hand’s gotten a little better so I’m more able now to draw these highly detailed tutorials than last week.

I’ve seen the film (it was released on June 6th here) and for the most part it was very entertaining. It didn’t have the same thrills and I didn’t get as excited as I did when I saw Jurassic Park for the first time, but it was good nonetheless. Not sure if I’ll do a review on the film. Let me know if you’re interested in one.

Throughout the tutorial I refer to BLUE the VELOCIRAPTOR as a male, so you’ll have to forgive me. I didn’t realize till I was done the recording that it was actually a female dinosaur.

Just so you guys know, I probably won’t be doing any drawing tutorials on the humans from the movie because quite frankly, the dinosaurs are a lot more interesting and more popular. Stay tuned to the channel for more Jurassic World tutorials!

CHARACTER BIO:

Blue was created by InGen for the IBRIS Project sometime before 2015, and was the first Velociraptor to be created for the latest pack. She was created with the DNA of the Black-throated monitor lizard, which allowed her scales to reflect an iridescent blue color, giving her the distinctive pattern that she was named after. Out of all the raptors that were to be created following her birth, she was the largest. When she was born, Owen Grady imprinted on her, which allowed him to train her. During her youth, she and Echo engaged in a fight for dominance over their pack, of which Blue was the victor.
