Damian Wayne Robin (Comic Version) Tutorial

posted in: Tutorials 2

There have been several people take up the Robin mantle over the years — Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, even Stephanie Brown and Carrie Kelley, but none are as brutal and vicious as Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s son and current Robin.

Of all the Robins, I chose Damian. Basically since Dick Grayson is now Nightwing, Jason Todd is Red Hood, and Tim Drake is Red Robin.

Arris from the YouTube channel Variant Comics had debate on which Robin was the best. He concluded it was Tim Drake. As much as I love Dick Grayson, I’d have to agree with him. Check out his video breakdown and let me know your thoughts in the comments:

Happy drawing,

P.S. Happy Good Friday! I’m taking the long weekend off from YouTube to spend time with family and do a little traveling. I have a couple of tutorials on schedule that should keep you entertained. Enjoy!

CHARACTER BIO:

Having spent his gestation in a laboratory, Damian was raised by his mother until ten years of age, at which point she left him in the care of his father, who had not been aware of his son’s existence until that point in time. Damian is violent and self-important, and was trained by the League of Assassins, learning to kill at a young age. After the events of ‘Batman R.I.P.’ and ‘Batman: Battle for the Cowl’, Damian has taken up the identity of Robin, becoming the fifth and current person to use the Boy Wonder’s identity.

I’m a schoolteacher who has always loved to draw. One day, one of my students said, “Can you teach me how to draw Baymax from Big Hero Six?” Thus, the channel was born! I’m a big nerd who loves comic books, action figures, and movies. I live in the USA, but I’m actually Filipino-Canadian.
