Luke Skywalker (Star Wars: The Force Awakens)

It’s the last STAR WARS Thursday till the release of Rogue One, so let’s draw the main character from the very first Star Wars film: LUKE SKYWALKER! It was he who eventually caused the destruction of the first Death Star, thanks to the efforts of the heroes from Rogue One.

Like I said in the video, I wasn’t a fan of the whiny Luke who appeared in the first film. (Watch this supercut of whiny Luke from A New Hope and just listen to him as he says, “But I was going to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!”) However, he eventually evolved into the formidable Jedi worthy of his namesake in the latter part of the first trilogy.

For this tutorial, however I decided to go with the mysterious, aged, weary Luke Skywalker from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There’s a story there that we won’t find out for another year, one which I’m excited to hear about.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial. Happy drawing,

Ramny

CHARACTER BIO:

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it is revealed during the opening crawl that Luke Skywalker had mysteriously vanished some time in the 30 years following the events of Return of the Jedi. It is also revealed that he went into hiding after his nephew and apprentice, Ben Solo, turned to the dark side during training and became Kylo Ren, killing all of his fellow apprentices and ushering in the despotic reign of the First Order. Feeling responsible, Luke disappeared.

Colouring page, of course!

I’m a schoolteacher who has always loved to draw. One day, one of my students said, “Can you teach me how to draw Baymax from Big Hero Six?” Thus, the channel was born! I’m a big nerd who loves comic books, action figures, and movies. I live in the USA, but I’m actually Filipino-Canadian.
