Darth Vader (Star Wars)

posted in: Tutorials 0

Ah, DARTH VADER. One of the most iconic villains of all time. From the moment he stepped on screen in Star Wars: A New Hope chastising Princess Leia and calling her a traitor, to his fateful death beside Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi, he made his presence known.

Prequels aside, it was heartbreaking to see how such an innocent young slave known as Anakin Skywalker became one of the most powerful characters in the universe. It was tragic to see how he became corrupted by Palpatine and the dark side of the force. And it was fascinating to see the transformation from man to machine.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial. In the video I mentioned how I got the tutorial from a book. That book is DRAW 50 MONSTERS by Lee J. Ames, and you can check it out (or buy it) here (affiliate link). There’s only Yoda and Darth Vader from Star Wars in this book. But it’s got some other cool monsters in it.

Stay tuned for more Star Wars themed drawings in the coming Thursdays!

Happy drawing,

CHARACTER BIO:

Once a heroic Jedi Knight, Darth Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force, became a Sith Lord, and led the Empire’s eradication of the Jedi Order. He remained in service of the Emperor — the evil Darth Sidious — for decades, enforcing his Master’s will and seeking to crush the fledgling Rebel Alliance. But there was still good in him…

Download the colouring page here… although there isn’t much to colour because, well, Darth Vader is already in black. Here it is anyway!
