Get Over Here!

In the previous episodes, I drew a flaming skull (Ghost Rider), a fighting game character with a color-swapped rival (Ryu), a Japanese-ish character (Luffy), and a super-strong dude known for wearing yellow (Luke Cage). Combine all of those together and what do you get?

SCORPION from Mortal Kombat X!

When Mortal Kombat came out in the early 1990s I was a little kid in love with Nintendo and SNES. I had been playing video games a while, but I had never seen anything like Mortal Kombat. The “real” sprites. The gory fatalities. Sure, there was Street Fighter, but Mortal Kombat took it the the next level. There was blood and gore, at a time when video games were still pretty clean and kid-friendly.

When Sub-Zero ripped out his opponent’s spine, we were mesmerized.

The fact that we are still playing this groundbreaking game two decades later really says something about the appeal of the game and the characters. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are definitely my two favourites.

What about you?

Happy drawing,
Ramny

CHARACTER BIO:

“‘Scorpion’ is the alias of Hanzo Hasashi, formerly one of the finest warriors of the Shirai Ryu, a Japanese ninja clan. After he was killed by Sub-Zero, a member of a rival clan of Chinese assassins known as the Lin Kuei, Scorpion became a hellspawned revenant residing in hell (later the Netherrealm) and seeking vengeance against those responsible for the destruction of his clan and the death of his family, including his wife and his son. Although essentially neutral in allegiance, Scorpion will join forces with anyone who can assist his plans of revenge.” (Source)

I’m a schoolteacher who has always loved to draw. One day, one of my students said, “Can you teach me how to draw Baymax from Big Hero Six?” Thus, the channel was born! I’m a big nerd who loves comic books, action figures, and movies. I live in the USA, but I’m actually Filipino-Canadian.

I like a lot of Mortal Kombat characters, but the ones I like most are Johnny Cage, liu Kang, and Kung lao. The best part about this though is you should try drawing kung lao, mainly, because he’s super hard. You should try drawing kung Lao and Johnny Cage.
